Pray for Erin

The Beginning September 8, 2011

You may or may not know that the last few months Erin has been feeling not so good.  After several attempts at diet changes and a visit to the ER last week, it was clear that things were not getting better.  Last night Erin was admitted to St. John’s Mercy Hospital after some abnormal test results at the doctor’s office.  Erin had several tests done today, the results showed a large mass in her abdomen along with abnormal blood test results.  At this point she is set to have surgery either Friday or Monday to remove the mass and determine what it is.
Erin will most likely be in the hospital for the next few days.
At Erin’s request and to help protect her during this time, she is requesting that all questions be directed to one of us.  We have set up this blog to help you stay up to date on her health and be able to send her encouragement.
Feel free to send her cards or flowers directly to her room.  If you would like to visit Erin, please contact one of us first.   Erin has felt very loved so far by the numerous people who have contacted her.  With such a flood of information of people, this has also been very overwhelming for her.   Although we are sure you will want to talk to her directly, in order to best love her and protect her, we ask that you send correspondence to Erin either through one of us or through the blog.
In the midst of this overwhelming and confusing time, we have confidence that God’s sovereignty is bigger than this situation, that his presence is with Erin and all of us, and that His perfect plan will be accomplished in and through Erin.  Please pray for Erin-for her health, for the doctors to have wisdom knowing how to treat her, and for Erin’s peace during this time.

To Erin or her blog-manager loved ones! I represent International Student Ministry St. Louis, and Erin created and manages a website for us (wwwismstl.org). We have a few somewhat urgent questions regarding this, but know that Erin has just begun another chemo treatment. Would someone possibly be able to give me a call to discuss the best way to address our needs given the current situation with Erin’s health? We had tried a few times to contact her in the past and haven’t received any response. While we absolutely-completely-100% understand why, it still remains true that we have a website that we need to get access to and pay fees for. I will be praying for Erin, having just read the entire blog. So glad to see how she has been doing so far, and inspired by her sweet faith. Would much appreciate a call from someone if at all possible. Muchas Gracias and may God continue to hold you all in His loving, strong, and unfailing hands!
